Statement regarding ACT Policing matter

28 November, 2024

ACT Ice Skating Association (ACTISA) became aware today that ACT Policing had arrested and

charged a 64-year-old man with multiple sexual assault offences after a search warrant was

executed at his home on 27 November.

This was the first time ACTISA learned about this serious matter.

We make no assumptions about the allegations which will now be tested in a court of law, but at

the same time we recognise the extreme seriousness of the charges and the nature of the alleged

offences.

ACTISA is a voluntary community sports association dedicated to the development and growth of

all forms of ice skating and figure skating in the ACT. We always seek to provide a safe and family-

friendly environment for our members to enjoy ice skating activities.

ACTISA does not employ ice skating coaches.

ACTISA is here to support our members and if they feel they need to talk to someone, they can

reach out to the ACTISA Committee or a nominated helpline.

We strongly encourage any member of our association who has any information about this

matter, or any similar matter, to contact ACT Policing by attending a police station or calling

131444. If your report relates to this matter, please quote reference number 6621922.

You can also submit an online report for historical sexual assault for incidents that occurred more

than six months ago.
